About zeroREMASTERED

Welcome to the About page, and fair warning: this isn’t your typical bio! Let me introduce myself properly. As you’ve probably gathered, I am zeroREMASTERED—yes, styled just like that.

While browsing my site, you’ve likely noticed two things:

  1. I’m an avid gamer and artist.
  2. My favorite video game series is the legendary Resident Evil, with my all-time favorite titles being Resident Evil 2 (1998) and Resident Evil 2 Remake (2019).

You may have also spotted another name floating around: TheCoverArtistZ. That’s my art channel, where I focus on creating thumbnails, emotes, designs, and more. It exists so I can dedicate myself to the art side of things without crossing wires with my gaming content. Separating these aspects of my personality helps me stay focused while giving my audience a more streamlined experience.

A Bit About My Artistic Influences

I could spend hours talking about my favorite artists, but here’s the short list:

  • Todd McFarlane
  • Ryan Benjamin
  • J. Scott Campbell
  • Jim Lee
  • Peach Momoko
  • David Finch (for those incredible Disturbed covers!)

If I kept going, I’d start veering into “who influenced me” territory. As you can see, my favorite artists are predominantly comic book creators. I’ve always been drawn to the art of comics rather than the stories themselves. Sure, I’ve read a few here and there, but it’s the visuals that captivate me. Often, I’ll even try to redraw them, which

These two handles will always hold a special place in my memory. They mark the beginning of my journey into online gaming and represent the time when I first owned an Xbox 360 and a PS3. Both names carry a unique significance, serving as a reminder of where it all started. Without them, zeroREMASTERED would have never come to life.

I get that my old handles were confusing and a bit hard on the eyes, but they hold a special place in my gaming history. Let me break down their meaning:

Xiero was the foundation of my gamertag and what I was known as for years. I’ve had the name for as long as I can remember. Fun fact: I once owned a custom belt with “Xiero” engraved on the buckle. It was one of the coolest things I’ve ever had—sadly, it didn’t survive the test of time.

83? That’s the year I arrived on Earth to “save the world.” Who am I saving, you ask? Great question—your guess is as good as mine. Yes, this also reveals my age, and I’m fine with that. I could’ve spun a tale about it being my jersey number when I played for Boston College and shattered all the receiving records, but that’d be a bold-faced lie. Truth is, I was on the track and field team, and I never even stepped foot on a Boston College campus. So, there’s that.

The 06 and 10? Those are the years I purchased my first consoles (Xbox 360 and PS3) and created these tags, marking the start of my online gaming journey.

Finally, let’s talk about SNK, which stands for Stealth Ninja Killer. Why such a dramatic name? Well, back then, every other gamertag seemed to include “Ninja.” It drove me nuts. So, I created SNK as a counter—a vow to actively seek out and take down anyone with “Ninja” in their tag. Whether it was a pregame lobby or mid-match, if your name had even a hint of “Ninja,” you were my sole target. I didn’t care about your team or the objective—I just wanted to see my name pop up repeatedly on your kill feed. It was all in good fun, of course.

Those gamertags may be retired, but I’ll always miss the hilarity of people trying to pronounce them. “The Sink” was a fan favorite, and honestly, I came this close to embracing it as a persona.

And here we are now—XIERO8306theSNK and XIERO8310theSNK are a thing of the past. It became a bit of a struggle hearing people try to pronounce my name in games. Some would call me “Xerox,” others “Ziro.” Honestly, I was starting to warm up to being called “The Sink” and even considered adopting it as a persona.

Then, the name change option came along. Xbox had always offered it, but as you know, they wanted to charge for it. PlayStation, however, didn’t allow name changes until, I believe, 2016 or 2017—don’t quote me on that, I’ll double-check for accuracy later. Once I was able to change my names, it wasn’t an easy decision, but it had to be done.

XIERO” became “zero,” and “8306theSNK” and “8310theSNK” transformed into “REMASTERED.” There’s a deeper meaning behind the change, but that’s a story for another time. The only difference between my two new handles is the obvious: my PSN tag has an extra “A” (I’ll dive into that in another post).

Once I made the switch, my friends started calling me by a whole new name, and that’s where the story picks up…
